Wervik to Borgerhout. That was the distance Hannelore and Pieter had to travel if they wanted to see each other. Last October they held a magnificent party to celebrate that they’ve been sharing a postal code for quite a while now. A postal code, and a life, and two small and lovely human beings. A merry bunch of family and friends gathered in the morning to witness a short but charming ceremony in Borgerhout. All the kids took part in officiating and the enthusiasm was almost palpable. Afterwards everyone put on their dancing shoes for a party to remember. The dining tables were cleverly themed with different stops on the route Wervik-Borgerhout and the menus had a small but useful dictionary for the dialects of both Pieter and Hannelore. A true meeting of Antwerp and West-Flanders.
